Among the preliminary hearings on the schedule today is one for a woman charged with child endangerment in Blairsville.
Court documents show Amanda Rivera, who has an address in Coral, faces two counts of endangering the welfare of children for an incident on March 15th of this year. Police in Blairsville said they were sent out that evening for a report of a juvenile on the roof at a home in the 200 block of Walnut Street trying to jump on power lines. When they got there, the juvenile was not on the roof, but officers did determine that conditions were hazardous due to the wind that day and the height of the building. Officers found two children who should have been in her care locked inside the building with no way of getting out or calling for help.
Also due in district court this morning for a preliminary hearing is Jesse Strickler. The 39-year-old from Cherry Tree was charged with simple assault and harassment for an incident on September 8th.
