WPIAL, DISTRICT 6 GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGIN

At the WPIAL Boys 3A Individual Golf Finals at Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, Indiana’s Ryan Bell advanced to the second round after shooting 7 over 77 yesterday.  That’s good for a 23^rd place tie.  The top 36 advanced.  Chace Force missed the cut with an 85.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic’s Bailey Donahue leads after shooting a 3 under par 67.  The top 13 after next Monday’s round at Sewickley Heights will advance to the PIAA Golf Championship at the Penn State golf courses.

DISTRICT 6

The District 6 Boys Golf Championships are today at Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona, with West Shamokin shooting for the Double-A team title and five Heritage Conference golfers teeing off in the individual title chase.

West Shamokin’s boys will swing against Richland, Westmont Hilltop, and Bishop Guilfoyle for the team title.

In the individual tournament, teeing off at 9 AM, the Wolves’ Carter Myers, Tanner Cook, and Carson Carnahan, Homer Center’s Reece Coy, and River Valley’s Brady Doak are all in the field
