The State House of Representatives will return to session after a 10-week recess, and several items will be up for discussion.
One of the issues will be the “skill games” ban as a deadline looms for their removal from bars, restaurants, grocery stores and other facilities. In June, the State Supreme Court ruled that “skill games” are slot machines under state law, and unlicensed skill games are unlawful. Starting October 14th, state police and local law enforcement are authorized to take legal action against those still operating the machines if the state legislature does not pass laws to allow them to remain. Bipartisan measures are before both the house and senate.
Discussions are expected to continue on A.I. Data Centers and energy consumption and a ban on cell phones in school.
