A woman charged with abandoning a dog is due in court today for a sentencing hearing.
Court documents show 31-year-old Palina Williams of Colyer in Centre County pleaded guilty on July 10th to two counts of cruelty to animals and single counts of aggravated cruelty to animals-causing death or serious bodily injury, refrain from reporting and designing or copying obscene material. State police said on February 20th, she reportedly abandoned the dog that was found the next day along Valley Road in Green Township. The dog was eventually taken to an area veterinarian and found to have two fractures in its pelvis and chicken bones in its stomach.
Further investigation revealed that Williams reportedly asked someone else to ditch the dog for her and sent nude photos to the other individual to keep them from talking to police.
The sentencing hearing is set for this morning in front of County Judge Gina Force.
