The cost of watching some district sports was brought up during Tuesday night’s River Valley School Board meeting.
The board had received some complaints about the cost of the service, as last year, the board offered it for free as there were also still subscribers to NFHS. Board President Rick Harper said that the issue will be brought to committee for further discussion.
During the meeting, things became disruptive once again over the district’s financial troubles. During the public comment section at the end of the meeting, Michelle Jesko called on Harper, Anthony Canzano, Connie Constantino, Luke Faust and Mary Whitfield. That prompted an outburst from Canzano, who called her a “troublemaker”. She then called on him to step down as the chairman of the finance committee.
In the voting section of the meeting, the board voted to hire Kelly Knupp as the new director for the 21st Century Grant Program and Sharon Kunkle as the new STEAM Academy Department Chair.
