Game two of the series is tonight. Pirates right-hander Jared Jones (4-6, 4.10 ERA) faces Brewers righty Logan Henderson (10-3, 2.34 ERA). Airtime is 6:15, first pitch at 6:40 on WCCS.
The Pirates’ High-A affiliate, Greensboro, lost to Winston-Salem, 2-0 last night and the Grasshoppers’ season ends with a 2-0 sweep of the best-of-three South Atlantic League championship series.
The rosters have been released for the Arizona Fall League for top baseball prospects, and the Pirates will have eight players on the roster of the Glendale Devil Dogs. Pitchers Brandon Cain, Cameron Keshock, Zander Mueth, Michael Walsh, and Christhian Tortosa; catcher Easton Carmichael; and infielders Wyatt Sanford and Jhonny Severino will represent the Pirates. The Devil Dogs will also feature prospects from the Braves, Dodgers, Marlins, and White Sox. Play begins on October 3rd.
