GOLF
A big win for Indiana, which knocked off Section-leading Kiski Area by five strokes, breaking 200 at the Indiana Country Club. Indiana’s 198 total was led by Chace Force, who fired a two-under 34, with a birdie-four on the first hole and a tap-in three on the par-five fifth. Ryan Bell shot 40, Logan Okopal and Will Steve 41, and Rudy Lipniskis 42. Kiski has clinched a share of the Section title, while Indiana still has a shot at second place and a spot in the WPIAL playoffs. They have another big Section match today at Penn Trafford.
The Indiana girls dropped an 18-stroke decision at Kiski Area. Ava McCombie led Indiana with a 59, one stroke ahead of Lyla Pangonis, two up on Gracie Reed, and Angelina Donatelli finished seven stroke firth back of McCombie. Match medalist was Kiski’s Avery Nix, with a 52.
JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL
Indiana Junior High football team is 2-0 after a 24-6 over Ligonier Valley. Ben Steve started the scoring by returning a punt 86 yards and he tacked on the two-point conversion. Rodney Allen then scored on a 50-yard run, with Roman Wright adding the two-pointer. The final touchdown came on an 18-yard scoring pass from Michael Carnovale to Jacee Powell, with the two added on by a Tommy Spadafora run.
