The Altoona Curve’s six-game winning streak was snapped by Akron, which won, 3-2 on Saturday when the game was called after six innings due to inclement weather.
The Curve’s Murf Gray cracked a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give them Curve a 2-0 lead. It was Gray’s 32nd home run of the season between Greensboro and Altoona, the most by a Pirates minor leaguer this season.
Akron scored three times in the fifth inning on run-scoring singles from Jaison Chourio and Aaron Walton to take a 3-2 lead.
Yonleg Gaetano spun four scoreless frames in his Double-A debut before giving up three runs in the fifth.
Altoona wraps up the 2026 season today at 1 PM. Connor Oliver will take the mound for the Curve.
