State police have released the statistics for the Labor Day enforcement period.
Troopers were out in full force from September 4th to the 7th. During that time, officers investigated 790 crashes, 30 more than Labor Day 2025. In those crashes, three people were killed in three fatal crashes. None of the fatal crashes were DUI related, but out of the total number of crashes, 67 of them were related to DUI. That’s down from last year, when seven people were killed in seven fatal crashes. There was an increase in the number of injury-related crashes, going up from 129 in 2025 to 152 this year. Police arrested 450 people on charges of DUI.
As far as other offenses, troopers issued 6447 speeding tickets, 770 seat belt citations, 84 child safety seat citations and 18,101 other tickets.
Those statistics are for incidents or enforcements investigated by state police and do not include those investigated by other law enforcement agencies.
