Indiana County officials are warning of a scam message that is making the rounds using the county’s name.
Indiana County Commissioner Bonni Dunlap said in a brief statement that if anyone receives a text message claiming their delinquent taxes need to be paid or their property will be sold, that message is a fraudulent one. The tax claim office does not call or text property owners and any notices are in writing and mailed to them.
Any questions should be directed to the tax claims office at 724-465-3810.
