An 18-year-old man from Monroe County is facing charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and other crimes for an incident Monday night in Indiana.
Borough police say officers were sent to the 200 block of Rice Avenue for a report of an intoxicated man outside a home causing issues with other individuals. When officers arrived, they found John DePaul of Effort and identified him as the only aggressor in the incident. As officers took him into custody, he resisted arrest and injured an officer.
Along with the simple assault and terroristic threats, he is charged with resisting arrest, criminal mischief, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, underage consumption, harassment, and public intoxication.
He was arraigned in front of district judge Robert Bell, Sr., and was placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 16th.
