The Pirates start a nine-game road trip with two series in one city. Greg Brown previews tonight’s opener, the first of six games in Chicago.
After spending the week in Chicago, the Bucs move on for three games in Milwaukee.
First baseman/outfielder Ryan O’Hearn is expected to make a rehab start for Indianapolis tonight when they play Omaha. He’s been missing from the Pirates’ lineup since August 1st when he strained his left quad running out a grounder to first. If all goes well, he could be back for the Bucs by Friday’s start of their series with the Cubs.
With eighteen games left in the season, the Pirates are five-and-a-half games out of the last National League Wild Card position.
