School board meetings this week include United, which interviewed candidates last week for the Region One board vacancy and could name someone to the post on Tuesday. The term will run through December 6th of next year.
Purchase Line’s school board will also meet on Tuesday for a work session. They normally meet on Mondays but they will delay a day due to the Labor Day holiday.
Penns Manor’s board will meet on Wednesday.
Also this week, Homer-Center plans to start the school year for its elementary students, who have been awaiting the remediation of the mold issue in their building. The plan for now is for teachers to have in-service days on Tuesday and Wednesday, teachers’ aides to join them on Wednesday, and school to start on Thursday. High school students started last week.
