Plans have been announced for a new housing community at the site of the former VFW Golf Course in White Township.
Local businessman Jerry Tibbott says that he is moving forward with the creation of Indian Springs Estates”, a residential and mixed-use community at the former property of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The current conceptual master plan is calling for 328 new homes to be built, including 66 single-family homes, 240 townhomes, and 22 patio townhouses along with 2.44 acres to be used for a proposed drive-through coffee shop, another 5.3 acres overlooking the lake for hotel development and another 5.3 acres for commercial or recreational development.
In a statement, Tibbott said that he initially purchased the property three years ago with the idea of having it be the future location of an wedding and event venue business owned and operated by his son, Austin, but determined that the property offered more opportunities than just the event venue and took a deep study into how the property can be best utilized. He added that it has become a passion project for him and his family and they want to create a place that will address community needs while making a place the township and the county can be proud of.
Indian Springs Estates is still in the planning, engineering and entitlement phases at this time. The family has met with local officials and they hope to complete all the necessary planning, engineering, and permitting by Spring of 2028 before starting work on site development. They plan on working on the project in phases over a period of years.
