The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce hosted Indiana County’s state legislators for the annual “Eggs and Issues” breakfast, and the new natural-gas fired power plant and potential A.I. data center in Center Township was one of the main topics of discussion.
Senator Joe Pittman was asked about the recent executive orders from the Governor that would establish guidelines and regulations for A.I. data center developments in the state. Pittman said that its important to remember that not all data center plans are equal, and that there are some people who are going about things the wrong way, and that proper code, zoning and development pieces need to be in place.
State Representative Jim Struzzi said that there is still a process that needs to be followed for the development.
State Representative Brian Smith said that a lot of the negativity for A.I. data centers are “misguided” in his words.
