UPDATE: Indiana Borough Police and resources from the FBI have safely taken a man inside the home at 195 Water Street into custody at 9:20 this morning. A level of police activity will continue to be seen in the area, but the roads will be reopened to traffic soon. Chief Justin Schawl said in a news release the area is safe and there is no threat to community safety.
More information on the incident is expected to be released later today.
WHAT WAS FIRST REPORTED
Indiana Borough Police are asking people to avoid the intersection of 2nd and Water streets in Indiana Borough as operations are going on to serve warrants in the area.
Police chief Justin Schawl said that police and the FBI are attempting to serve search and arrest warrants at 195 Water Street, and are still active at that location. They are asking drivers to avoid the intersection of 2nd and Water Streets as that area is closed off to traffic until further notice. Chief Schawl said there is no threat to community safety as activity is focused on that specific area. An update will be provided once activity has concluded in the area.
