The U.S. Small Business Administration and the state Emergency Management Agency will provide assistance to eight counties that were affected by a flash flood in Clearfield County on July 28th.
On that day, heavy rainfall came through southern parts of Clearfield County, overwhelming local drain systems and flooding homes and businesses. The SBA will provide low-interest loans for homeowners, renters, private non-profit organizations and businesses who sustained physical damage from the flash flood. Up to $50,000 can be provided for homeowners to replace or repair personal property, up to $100,000 for homeowners and renters for the same purpose, and businesses and non-profits are eligible for up to $2 million to cover disaster losses not fully covered by insurance. Additionally, small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations located in the declared disaster area that have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
On top of that, starting Monday, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency will activate the Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Assistance Program to provide grants to individuals and families affected by the flood. This includes Burnside Township near Indiana County and seven other municipalities. Click here to get more information from PEMA.
