Homers from the Altoona Curve’s Callan Moss and Samuel Escudero were for naught as the Curve lost to Binghamton 8-5 Friday night.
After Binghamton posted five runs across the third and fourth innings, the Curve posted four runs in the top of the 5th with Moss’ solo homer. Later in the inning, Escudero blasted a three-run shot of his own to bring the Curve within one. But Binghamton kept the offense going with another two runs and maintaining the lead for the rest of the game. Connor Oliver took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking five over three and two-thirds innings.
The two teams will play again tonight. Dominic Pipkin will start for Altoona.
