Penguins prospect Cruz Lucius informed the team in the spring that he would not be signing with them so yesterday they traded his rights to Anaheim for future considerations.
Lucius was one of the three prospects acquired from Carolina for Jake Guentzel at the 2024 trade deadline. He wrapped up his college career at Arizona State in the spring and according to NHL rules, can become an unrestricted free agent thirty days after declaring that he won’t sign with the team holding his rights. That, for now, will be the Ducks.
