In their first workout since Thursday’s preseason opener, the Steelers held a brief practice in helmets but not pads at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
A number of players nursing injuries sat out, including wide receivers DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr., Kaden Wetjen, and Brandon Smith; offensive lineman Max Iheanachor; defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day; and defensive backs Jaquan Brisker, Brandin Echols, and Israel Mukuamu.
Newly-signed linebacker Elandon Roberts put in his first practice, as did new wide receiver signees Cornell Powell and Isaiah Winstead.
The final day at St. Vincent is tomorrow, with practice opening at 11 AM. After they break camp, the Steelers will move in to their headquarters at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex to prepare for Friday’s second preseason game at the New York Jets.
