The Curve’s struggles against the Akron Rubber Ducks continued with a 7-1 loss Friday night.
Akron’s Ryan Cesarini hit a leadoff home run on the game’s first pitch and added a three-run homer in the second to push the ‘Ducks to a significant early lead. Lonnie White Jr. was the only offense for the Curve with a solo homer of his own in the 4th. Altoona starter Connor Oliver was tagged for six runs in two and two-thirds innings. Altoona’s bullpen turned in an excellent performance after Oliver and allowed just one run over six and two-thirds innings.
The two teams meet again tonight with Dominic Pipkin starting for the Curve.
