Norman Eugene Fetterhoff, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at home.
He was born in Punxsutawney on May 12, 1940, a son of the late Norman Marlin Fetterhoff and Ethel Mae (Smith) Fetterhoff.
Mr. Fetterhoff was a United States Navy Veteran faithfully serving his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
On June 9, 1979, he married Doris Ann Nelson. They enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage.
Gene will be remembered as a gentle and caring man.
He worked for many years at Lawless Container Corporation headquartered in North Tonawanda, New York.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by three sons, Timothy James (Lee Ann) Fetterhoff of Punxsutawney, Thomas Eugene (Gail) Fetterhoff of Punxsutawney and Steven Mark Fetterhoff of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren, Megan (Codey) Schlemmer, Ashley (Johninthin) Hain and Chad Fetterhoff; five great grandchildren, Emelia, Adalyn, Mackenzie, Cole and Cayden; two brothers Quinley Jay Fetterhoff of Trade City and David Fetterhoff of Punxsutawney; one sister, Cecelia Slack of New York.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Butch Fetterhoff; and one sister, Susan Woloszyn.
Arrangements were private and entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
Interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Park in Amhearst, New York.
