A Latrobe man who worked part-time as a school bus driver is facing 100 counts of sexual abuse of children.
According to the Tribune Review, State police say 62-year-old Edward Smith was arrested Monday after an investigation found videos and images of child sexual abuse material on his phone.
The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Police traced the material to Smith and seized multiple electronic devices during a search of his Latrobe home. Police say Smith was working part-time for Smith Bus Company in Blairsville, driving students to sporting events and field trips. Investigators say there are no reports of misconduct involving Smith and children.
Smith is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on 25-thousand dollars bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 17th.
