A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 3:00 this afternoon.
Indiana, Jefferson, Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties are part of the area under the watch issued by the National Weather Service. The watch means that atmospheric conditions in our area are ripe the development of strong thunderstorms. The public is advised to remain vigilant and to continue to monitor broadcasts later in the day in case the watch becomes a warning, is extended or expires.
