The Pens former ECHL team has found a new team to affiliate with.
The Wheeling Nailers have signed an agreement to partner with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters for the next two seasons.
The Nailers had been affiliated with the Penguins since 1998 before that agreement came to an end this offseason as the Pens new owners wanted the team they already own, the Florida Everblades, to become the new ECHL affiliate.
The Blue Jackets last had an ECHL affiliate in 2023 when they concluded a partnership with the Kalamazoo Wings.
