Blairsville’s annual Knotweed Festival will be held tomorrow.
The activities start with a parade down Market Street at 10:00 AM. This year’s parade will contain more than 30 units. Parade organizer Connie Constantino said that the parade will serve as a great kickoff to the entire day.
Activities continue with food and craft vendors opening up at West Market and Liberty Street at 10:30 AM. The first performance of the day will be the Diamond Dolls twirling group at10:45 AM. Music acts throughout the day include the Blairsville Community Band; the Steelbillies; Scott, Rob and Greg of The Clarks; and the Rock This Town Orchestra before the fireworks at 9:45.
David Chaek is one of the festival organizers, and he says it is a throwback to Blairsville’s Diamond Days, an event that his father helped to organize.
