A Clarion County man charged with endangering the welfare of a child has waived his preliminary hearing, sending the case to Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.
ExploreClarion.com reports that prosecutors allege 40-year-old Mark McKissick Dehner displayed a rigged crossbow during a FaceTime call with a juvenile family member on June 21. After the call disconnected, police responding to a Knox Borough residence found Dehner in the basement with a self-inflicted arrow in his chest. He was flown to a trauma center for treatment.
Dehner also faces separate arson and aggravated animal cruelty charges tied to an April house fire that killed the family dog.
