Two brush fires were reported yesterday in Indiana County, bringing the number for the year up to 30.
The first was at 8:18 PM on Route 286 East in Green Township, with the Commodore Fire Department sent out at the time. The second was at 8:59 PM on Whitesell Road in South Mahoning Township. Plumville and Creekside fire departments were dispatched to that call. Details on how the fires started have not been released.
First responders were also called out for a smoke investigation on North Liberty Street in Blairsville Borough at 5:31 PM. Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were on scene.
