The Indiana County Endowment has announced that a donor has committed to a $25,000 matching grant to the permanent endowment fund.
The Endowment, which provides funding for nonprofits, was created in 1990 by local citizens, including Jimmy and Gloria Stewart. Managed by The Pittsburgh Foundation, gifts to the Endowment are invested and only the profits from the investments are distributed in grants.
Last year, the Indiana County Endowment provided more than $35,000 in grants to sixteen organizations, covering education, arts and culture, health and human services, recreation, and community development.
In a letter announcing the matching grant board president Paige Gandolfi seeks “leadership gifts” of $1,000 or more to “unlock (the) match.”
