Despite an hour and 46 minute rain delay in the sixth inning, the Pirates and Braxton Ashcraft snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Cincinnati.

The Pirates also traded two minor league prospects, including Altoona catcher Omar Alfonzo, to the Yankees for reliever Camilo Doval, a former Giants All-Star.
