The Penguins have signed Tommy Novak to a three-year contract extension.
The deal starts with the 2027-28 season, and will carry a salary cap hit of $4.65 million. Novak would have been entering the final year of his contract this season. He was the only member of the Penguins roster to appear in all 82 games and was the seventh-leading scorer with 42 points, including 16 goals, and averaged 14 minutes 17 seconds of ice time per game. A lot of Novak’s ice time last season came situated as a center between Egor Chinakhov and Evgeni Malkin as his wingers.
