Today marks the last day of Indiana County’s longtime Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Randy Degenkolb.
He has served in that position since January of 2010 but has also been with the county for the last 28 years, including terms as county commissioner, auditor and financial manager for the county. (In an interview on Indiana in the Morning), he said that county government always fascinated him.
Degenkolb has also stepped down from leadership positions in the Indiana County Republican Party. He plans to spend more time with his family and will also continue his work on “This Sunday Morning” on WDAD.
Amanda Vatter, his first deputy, will be sworn in today to finish Degenkolb’s term of office, which will end in December of 2027.
