Altoona’s hitters came to play last night and they were needed, as their pitchers were battered again in a 14-10 Curve win over Chesapeake. Catcher Easton Carmichael slugged two of the Curve’s five home runs. Lonnie White Jr., Titus Dumitru, and Omar Alfonzo also knocked the ball out of the park.
The Curve have been enjoying a power surge since the All-Star break, leading the Eastern League in homers with 24. Overall, this season Altoona has hit 108 homers in 99 games. The franchise record for home runs in a season is 143, set in 2022.
