Thursday night, Blairsville Mayor Michael Walstrom hosted a second public forum on the topic of incrased truck traffic.
While Mayor Walstrom said the primary concerns that were brought up in June’s meeting were speeing, dust/dirt, the number of trucks, and noise, he was surprised that one that did not get more attention was the effect on local businesses.
One possible solution is for a bypass to be built to take traffic around town. Walstrom called it a “cure-all” for the problems that a lot of people agree with.
It was also announced that the public is invited to help further the issue through a task force. Anyone interested in joining can contact Walstrom or Dave Janusek by using the email addresses below.
