Indiana County first responders were busy yesterday with six recorded calls.
The first was an automatic fire alarm activation on Route 56 East in East Wheatfield Township that brought out Armagh and Clyde fire departments. Initial scanner reports said that the dispatch at 10:53 AM was for a small electrical fire at United Elementary School that was quickly put out.
Indiana Fire Association members would be called out twice yesterday. The first was for a Carbon Monoxide Alarm on Wayne Avenue at 11:05 AM, and the second was for an Automatic Fire Alarm Activation on Philadelphia Street at 1:20 PM.
There were also two calls for utility lines down on Tuesday. One was on Clyde Road in West Wheatfield Township. Clyde and Armagh Fire departments were sent out at 12:07 PM, while the other was in Canoe Township on Central Street at 3:05 PM. Rossiter fire department was dispatched.
The last call of the day was a reported vehicle accident on Route 422 East in Cherryhill Township. Cherryhill Township fire department and Citizens Ambulance joined state troopers on-scene at 5:31 PM. Officials said a vehicle hit a utility pole, but the driver of the car was out by the time crews arrived. Officials remained on-scene until utility crews arrived to make repairs to the pole.
