Authorities continue to investigate threats toward Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and his wife by a Cumberland County prison inmate.
State Police say SCI Camp Hill inmate Corey Bennett wrote letters threatening the governor, the first lady, and the Governor’s Residence that he planned to send to two separate county clerks before they were found. Acting State Police Commissioner George Bivens said Bennett’s threats specifically mentioned using gang members to try and inflict violence. Bivens added that this is the latest instance of what he called an “unbelievable” rise in threats of political violence tracked by PSP.
