The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Pens have signed the ECHL’s top goalie Cam Johnson to a one-year contract yesterday.
He has lead the Florida Everblades to four of the last five Kelly Cup championships. Johnson appeared in 49 regular season games last year and posted a 31-9-9 record, a 1.84 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and three shutouts.
Barring injuries or other absences to the Pittsburgh Penguins’ goaltenders under NHL contract, Johnson will likely be assigned back to the Everblades, the Penguins’ new ECHL affiliate.
