Derek Berg homered for the second straight game, but Altoona pitching gave up four home runs and the Curve lost to the Reading Fightin’ Phils, 10-6. Ryan McCarty and Ivan Brethowr also hit home runs for the Curve, but despite three of their hits going over the fence, the Curve had only five hits in the entire game. Altoona stranded the bases load in the ninth to end the game.
After Reading took four out of six to win the series, the Curve open a six-game series tomorrow night at Akron.
