Derek Berg had four hits and Matt King added three as Altoona stacked up fourteen hits overall, but lost to Reading, 9-5. The Fightin’ Phils scored four runs in the sixth inning and another in the seventh to seal the win, spoiling a big day for Berg, who doubled twice and homered.
Curve pitchers combined to strike out fourteen Phils, including a career-high eight by starter Peyton Stumbo.
Matt Ager starts for Altoona today in the series finale.
