Idlewild Amusement Park and Soakzone has decided to close today due to the hazardous air quality.
Smoke from Canadian wildfires has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Code Purple Air Quality Alert for many areas in Western Pennsylvania. This means that it is unsafe for anyone to be outside for prolonged periods of time, not just sensitive groups.
The Indiana County Tourist Bureau says that they will be reaching out to those who purchased a ticket for the park today, and those tickets will be valid through September 7th.
Anyone with questions can contact the tourist bureau office at 724-463-7505.
