The Penguins are set to renew their rivalry with the Flyers to launch the season later this fall. Pittsburgh will go on the road to take on Philadelphia on September 30th. The Canadiens will be in town for the Pens’ home opener on October 3rd. The NHL is expected to release the entire season schedule today.
The Penguins have also announced the hiring of another associate of president of hockey operations. Former Toronto Maple Leafs Executive Brandon Pridham will serve as a hockey operations consultant. His duties will involve “overseeing player contract negotiations, salary cap management and planning to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, and scheduling,” according to an announcement from the team.
