CURVE FALL TO RICHMOND ON FINAL GAME BEFORE ALL-STAR BREAK

Altoona fell to the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the final game before the all-star break 5-3 Sunday afternoon.

Richmond touched Curve starter Connor Oliver in two innings on four hits, including a two-run homer from Richmond’s Jean Carlos Sio.  Keiner Delgado scored on a sacrifice fly from Derek Berg in the first.  The other runs came from a Lonnie White, Jr. home run in the 7^th and a sac-bunt from Zane Zielinski that scored Maui Ahuna.

Altoona will be off until Friday for the All-Star break before traveling to Reading for a three-game series with the Fightin Phils. Altoona will send Dominic Perachi to the mound in the series opener.

In other minor league news, Pirates prospects Seth Hernandez and Edward Florentino took part in the MLB futures game.  The American League beat the National League 6-1, with Hernandez pitching in the second inning, recording two strikeouts.  Florentino started in right field, and batted ninth.  He was hit by a pitch, then stole a base and scored a run before he was replaced in the 4^th inning.
