Ceremonies were held Thursday morning to officially open the new bike-pedestrian bridge over Route 22 in Burrell Township.
The new bridge will serve as an extension to both the Hoodlebug and Ghost Town Trails, giving people the opportunity to cross Route 22 safely above traffic. While the main construction took place last summer, discussion and work to get funding for the project has been going on for several years. County Commissioner Mike Keith said that on word would sum up yesterday’s ceremony: “Finally”.
On hand for the ceremony was the Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Cindy Adams Dunn. She talked about how important this bridge is, especially to draw people in.
