Richard Edgar Williams, peacefully passed away at Indiana Regional Medical Centerat the age of 79 on July 4, 2026.
He was born in Clymer, PA on October 21, 1946, the son of the late William and Helen Williams. He was the beloved father of Bill Williams (Beth) and Wendi Williams, and grandfather to: Lauren, Paige, Sydney, and Luke Williams and Richard Martinez. He is also survived by his brother Ward F. Williams.
Richard graduated with a master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and was honorably discharged from the US Army as a first lieutenant in 1974. He reached the rank of captain in the Army Reserves until he separated from service in 1978. He went on to a varied career that included positions at the PA Liquor Control Board, various restaurants, and the Pittsburgh Job Corps. In the 1980s, he owned and operated Willie’s Place, a bar/restaurant in Shaler Township. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed many sports including hunting and fishing and was a dog lover. He was outgoing and had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will be paying tribute to his life with a private memorial. Cremation arrangements were with Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory in Indiana where online condolences may be made by visiting rbfh.net.
