The Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County will present a Salute to Veterans tonight as part of the opening of a new exhibit at the Armory on Wayne Avenue.
The event is being held in cooperation with the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office and the American Legion. Legion commander Wesley Wertz talks about how the program, which will be held at 6:30 in Memorial Park will go.
Other music will be provided by the Indiana County Fife and Drum Corps starting at 6:00, and during the program, there will be performances by the Otter Creek Brass Band and Randy Degenkolb. After the program, guests will be invited into the Historical and Genealogical Society’s museum to view the new “Salute to our Veterans” exhibit.
Those who want to attend are reminded to bring their own lawn chair for the program. Free parking and shuttle service will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m. Parking locations include Graystone Presbyterian Church and the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex parking lot along Wayne Avenue in Indiana. Shuttle service will transport guests to and from the event site throughout the evening.
