More than 100 people attended a free screening at the Jackson Theater in the Punxsutawney Area Community Center to watch restored films highlighting the area’s past.
The event included a screening of Black Dust Boy, a film about Rossiter.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, Jeanne Curtis, assisted by Judy Freed and others, compiled a companion book identifying the many people featured in the historic film, titled Whatever Happened to Five Minutes of Fame. Also included was rare footage of Punxsutawney from 1939.
Attendees praised both films as unique historical time capsules, with Joseph Hetrick describing the 1939 footage as a vivid look at everyday life in Punxsutawney.
