A Kittanning man is spending five months on home detention for stealing Social Security funds that were supposed to go to a disabled child.
Forty-seven-year-old Jared Koeller was also given three years of probation and ordered to pay back 17-thousand dollars during his sentencing. Officials say Koeller misused benefit payments meant for the child after they were placed in the custody of another person.
U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti says the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General uncovered the fraud.
