PA ELECTION LAW ADVISORY BOARD STALLED WAITING FOR SHAPIRO APPOINTMENTS

Pennsylvania’s bipartisan Election Law Advisory Board has not met in nearly three years as seven seats are awaiting appointments from Gov. Josh Shapiro remain vacant.

Investigative journalism by spotlight PA found that the board was created in 2020 to recommend updates to the state’s election laws, but county election officials say its work has stalled despite ongoing calls for reforms, including changes to mail ballot processing and other election procedures.
