Jury selection will start today for three trials in Indiana County Court, including one for a Johnstown Man charged in connection with a reported assault in October of last year.
Court documents show 19-year-old Tanyen Spencer is charged with simple assault, evading detention on foot, DUI, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for the incident on October 8th. Police say there sent out for an active domestic violence incident that reportedly involved him and an un-named victim in the area of Red Barn Road. Police spotted his vehicle at the Sheetz in Homer City as they were en route, and he tried to run away, but he was eventually captured and complied with officers. The victim claimed that he went to her brother’s house and got into a verbal argument over relationship issues and assaulted her. He also allegedly drank alcohol before the incident.
The other two hearings are for Steven McClurg of Creekside, who is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment for an incident on July 5th of last year; and for Lacy Kuzilla of Penn Run, who is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communications facility for an incident on June 27th of last year.
