The Indiana branch of the NAACP will celebrate Juneteenth with a special event tonight at Mack Park.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Humans, Humanoids and Robotics: The Impact of a Changing World”. In a statement, branch president Dr. Carolyn Princes said that the day is more than a celebration, it is also a day of remembrance and reflection on some of the events that help America succeed and thrive.
The program this year will run from 4-8 PM at the Mack Park pavilion. Guest speakers this year include Theo Turner of Triple Threat Skills Academy and Indiana Borough planning and zoning official Trajan Jones. There will also be free swimming at Mack Pool, children’s activities, food, music from a live band and a DJ and awards among others.
The event is free and open to everyone. To register, follow the link here.
